Pink & Red

Huge photo of the shoes was needed, these are probably my favourite pair of shoes (that says a lot considering the amount i own).
Last night i went to my friends 21st party so it was a chance to get all glamed up (yes i used the word glam and yes I'm using lots of brackets!). I went for a slight 40's looks as personally I'm a big fan of vintage. The top was rather daring as my back was practically naked however i loved it non the less. And i was wearing jeans so i think it was OK to show a bit of back.

I have a feeling I'm breaking every rule by wearing red lipstick with a pink top? but i just wouldn't feel as dressed up withing some red lipstick to complete the look.

I really want to buy more vintage looking or genuine vintage items, any ideas were i can get some from?

Everything I'm wearing is from New Look minus the shoes that i got from Asos.

OOTD

Blouse: Topshop, Skirt (kids section in the sale!) : New look, Shoes: Urban Outfitters, Stole: New look,  Necklace: Dorothy Perkins.

Hello, another outfit photo for you. Off out to the pub with a few friends and this is what I put together. I’m not one for jeans on a night out... not even to the pub so this maxi skirt allowed me to cover up in the cold without looking too drab. I couldn't resist putting the fur stole on over the top; it makes me feel so glamorous! I’m going to miss this little beauty when the weather warms up.

Also wearing my Max factor Ruby Tuesday lipstick, one of my favourite red lipsticks.

Leopard & Leather

Jacket- Dorothy Perkins, cotton blouse- primark, jeans- new look, converse- all star, rings- hand made by a lovely girl at uni, new look & topshop.

Hello, just a little ootd for you here. Went to the cinema last night so came up with this comfy outfit... nothing more annoying then sitting in the cinema and being uncomfortable! It's been so long since I've worn my leopard print converse, I'm not sure why because they are so comfy! Really must start to wear them more.

Also wearing a new MUA foundation i picked up for £2 yesterday morning so expect a review soon.

I flip my hair back and forth

As I said a few posts ago I thought I would share with you my hair extensions, I’m not a regular extension wearer anymore but I love being able to put them on for the odd night out. I made these extensions about 6 months ago (so I should probably buy some new ones) that’s why they don’t appear drastically longer then my natural hair... it must actually be growing!

Before these extensions I use to live in clip-ins, they seemed like the perfect safe method of making hair drastically longer. However; unfortunately a few years ago I got alopecia areata, my hair started to fall out in patches so I automatically went for my extensions to add more volume to my thinning hair.

The one problem I had though was the lack of hair underneath to clip them into (it was a constant bad hair day if I’m going to be honest). I had also heard some horror stories about people losing hair due to the weight of clip-ins pulling on the natural hair. The last thing I wanted to do was loose more hair.

So that’s when I came up with the idea of these babies! I attached the extensions onto a black piece of elastic that sits in my hair just like a headband. I am so glad I came up with these, there is no weight what so ever pulling on my hair, they are so comfy and so fast to remove and put in.

I know these won’t work for everyone, especially people with lighter hair; although I presume you could find lighter elastic?

So theres the story of my DIY hair.

Nails inc...

Just a short post today as I’m busy creating a presentation for my final project at university, I’m having a huge panic at the thought of actually presenting my idea. What if people don’t like it? What if I look dumb? O dear... to think I use to do drama and love performing in front of people.

I thought I would show you my nails of the day and give you a super short and sweet review of nails inc nail polish. For Christmas my lovely boyfriends parents got me the set pictured above and I have been experimenting will all of the colours ever since! I love painting my nails, there’s something relaxing about it... maybe it’s the fumes going to my head.

My two favourite colours within the set are the purple and the gold so I thought I would do an attempt at some nails art and combine the two. I won’t lie to my lovely readers and pretend I knew what I was doing; to be honest I didn’t know what to do which is why each nail is different... I was feeling indecisive.

The quality of these nails polishes is brilliant, for those long term readers of my blog you may remember me talking about how I was on the hunt for a nail varnish that lasted more than 2days... well ladies I have found it!

This nail varnish lasted 4 days until the fist chip, now that might not sound like long for lots of you but my nails never usually last longer than an hour at work. Sometimes I don’t even know why I bother painting my nails for the weekend.

The colours of this set are also so so lovely! They come out so bold on your nails just after one coat. I really can’t recommend this brand enough. High durability and great colours, what more does a girl need from her nail varnish?

Hope your all having a lovely weekend.

Peep Show

Number 17's peep show mascara

I recently purchased number17's new mascara peep show in an attempt for longer, fuller and let’s face it better looking lashes. I often find myself feeling disappointed with mascara, it never seems to live up to its claims.

Initial thoughts: after the first use I have to say I was impressed, my lashes where significantly longer. There wasn't much difference in volume but the extra length was impressive. 17 claim this is due to lash lengthening fibres, and honestly why have I not used these fibres before because they work!

The results? Just look for yourself.

slightly creepy eye shot
Usually my lashes are short, thin and close to invisible so this mascara definitely does what it says on the tube!

The only negative I can find is that the more I seem to use it the more clumpy it seems to become, however this just takes a little bit more time to comb the product through the lashes and hey presto luscious lashes! Coming in at only £5 at the moment (I believe it is on offer) I can't fault this products value for money.

Return of the blazer

awkward face... still need to master the art of smiling and posing
why does hair always looks messier in photos?

Blazer: New look, T-shirt:Topshop, Skirt: h&m, Belt: Dorothy Perkins

Went out for dinner again last night but with my lovely boyfriend this time and this is what i wore, had some lovely food at Frankie and Bennie's [although was spoilt slightly by the children's birthday party that decided to sit next to us!] I'm a big fan of Frankie and Bennie's, there bruchetta is amazingly good!

I'm not sure what happened to my hair, i was in a rush and well this is what i came up with! slightly disappointed as it looks unbelievably messy in the above photos.

Hope your all having a lovely weekend. I'm currently sitting at home in my pj's with a bad throat and headache after a long shift at work.

Bubblegum wine

excuse the rollers!

Blazer: new look courtesy of my lovely boyfriend for Christmas, Jumper h&m, High waisted skinnies:new look [from my lovely mother], shoes also newlook. [didn't realise how much newlook stuff i was wearing!]

I'm fully aware this is a lot of photos for one outfit! and to be honest I'm not even sure why i have so many photos! but there you have it. Went out for dinner and a few drinks with a friend and this is the outfit i put together.

Had a lovely meal at prezzo and drank some lovely wine, couldn't resist trying a wine that was described as having a bubblegum taste [echo falls rose wine.]  Surprisingly good, I'm not usually one for wine. Ate lots of pasta, salad and goats cheese that i couldn't even fit pudding in... crazy stuff.

Wearing hair extensions for a change, it's been a few months at least since i have worn extensions so it makes a lovely change to have long hair! I might do a post soon on my extensions as they are rather unique [how mysterious does that sound? they are not clip in or glue in by the way.]

Hope your all having a lovely night

Inspiration & Resolutions

Just a little fashion inspiration, New Year new start and all! I'm fully aware a mermaid picture has nothing to do with fashion but it’s so pretty I couldn't help but post it!

While I’m here I thought I would share with you some of my new year’s resolutions. I’m not usually one to make a new year’s resolution but this year I couldn't help myself.
  • New Year, new look. My hair has become dull and boring so this year I vow to experiment more and try new looks. So expect to see a lot more pictures of my tresses as I go crazy and experiment with new looks.
  • Work harder at uni, this is my last year and I plan to go out with a BANG
  • Post better content to my blog, stop posting rubbish [like this] and start taking better photos and writing better quality reviews.

Top 11 trends for 2011...

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Wide leg, Jumpsuits and Midi Dresses...

I'll begin by saying happy new year! hope you all had a fabulous night last night. Can't believe how fast this year has gone. I thought i would share with you my top  trends that we have seen this year.

Number 1: The return of wide leg trousers! For a big fan of skinny jeans this trend took its time to grow on me. But the moment i bought my first pair of palazzo pants [shown above] i was in love. So comfy and quite frankly i can't help but feel grown up in wide leg trousers! [how childish does that sound?]

Since summer i simply cannot get enough of wide leg trousers and wide leg jumpsuits are even better! which moves me onto my next trend.

Trend Number 2: jumpsuits! i simply fell in love with this trend, as soon as i put on my bargain jumpsuit from primark [only £10 might i add] i knew this was a trend for me. Ever since i always have my eye out for more jumpsuits to add to my collection.

In my opinion they are one of the easiest trends to pull off, with so many different types, long sleeve, strapless, wide leg, skinny there is a jumpsuit out there for everyone! plus its a whole outfit in only one buy. Can it get any easier?

Trend Number 3: midi skirts/dresses, this has to be for me the best trend to come out of 2011. Simply flattering and classic. Midi dresses have such an elegant vintage look and are far more classy then mini dresses in my opinion [and there is less fear of your bum hanging out... always a plus]

Trend Number 4:  faux fur has kept many of us warm this winter, from coats to fur stoles this is one trend that has taken many forms. I have practically lived in my fur stole this winter it adds a touch of style when thrown over a plain coat or blazer.

Trend Number 5: Leather, sorry for the bad quality photo but its the only one i have of my leather trousers. Leather trousers in 2011 where no longer just for bikers, with celeberities like Olivia Palmero sporting them they soon become one of my must have items of 2011!

Nail Art Trends...

Trend Number 6: glitter, glitter, glitter! I'm pretty positive this trend returns every winter but none the less a fabulous Christmas trend. And this year the glitter nail returned bigger and better with some amazing products coming to our shop shelves. My favourite being Barry M's special effects polish.

Trend 7: the signature nail. This has been circulating the blogging world nearly all year and has left most of us with some fantastic, unusual and bizarre nail art on our ring fingers. But personally i think its a great way to experiment without the hassle of doing nail art on every single nail. So the verdict? easy & fast = the perfect nail trend.

Trend Number 8: while discussing nail trends i couldn't possible skip magnetic nails! Such a unique product to hit our shelves .

Hair Trends...

Trend number 9: Ombre hair. From blonde to pastel colours this trend has taken over hair across the Internet. I'll admit its a trend i haven't tried myself but i have stared in wonder at many who have sported this trend! If my hair wasn't so badely damaged Im certain i would have attempted this trend by now!

Trend Number 10: I'm not even sure if this was a trend but it certainly was for me! I love vintage, vintage make-up, dresses and even hair. This year i have been doing lots of experimenting with vintage styles and curles, expect to see more this year!

Trend Number 11: 2011 has seen the return on the braid and a revamp from childish to chic. Long gone are the days when the plait was childish. The fishtail braid worked perfect this summer for lazy beach days.

What where your favourite trends in 2011? Any idea what you will be sporting for 2012?

Just a small note to say thank you to those that are following my blog and have given up there time to comment, it means a lot. I always take a look at others blogs who follow or leave comments.
